A new customer I acquired used a guy he found on Craigslist and that guy did more harm than good.
I went into the situation and basically fixed everything except for 1 thing. I found 2 Trojans and few other malware and removed those.
The issue is IE 11 and Firefox latest don't connect online. Only Google Chrome connects online and if I use a program like Malwarebytes or Windows update it connects and downloads updates.
I check Hosts file, Proxy and reset the Winsock Reset Catalog command and nothing helped. Host and Proxy were empty and I went into the Extensions/Add-Ons and nothing wrong there either. I am stumped.
I left him with Chrome running so he was happy as he had been with no internet for close to two weeks. I did notice there was a malware for search and though it messed it up but by removing would fix the issue. It did not.
I checked the firewall he has Webroot Security and those programs are allowed. Should those browsers be downloaded and installed again?
If anyone has seen this before and fixed it please advise on what you did. I know it is important to have more than one browser on a machine in case of situations like this but never seen 1 work and the other 2 not.
