Error 0x0000005D when installing Windows 10 Technical Preview

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

Faced with this problem, and I want to ask, what to do if when I install Windows 10 Technical Preview 9901 crawls error 0x0000005d.

Help please!

P.S. Early builds of Windows 10 installed without any problems.

P.S.S. Was downloaded from servers Microsoft.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for English! Translated with Google Translator.

Sounds like a CPU/BIOS issue:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_install/windows-8-upgrade-error-code-0x0000005d/7b56472b-3df2-4c96-b403-042f3eb71c96

To resolve this error, follow manufacturer guidelines to enable NX ("No eXecute bit"), or the equivalent XD ("eXecute Disabled"), feature within the BIOS settings. This feature is typically found in the Advanced or Security tabs within the BIOS settings, and can be referred to by a variety of names, including but not limited to:

? No Execute Memory Protect

? Execute Disabled Memory Protection

? EDB (Execute Disabled Bit)

? EVP (Enhanced Virus Protection)

If the BIOS setting for the NX (XD, EDB, or EVP) support option is not available on your system, you may need to contact the manufacturer to update the BIOS.

Build 9901? Downloaded from Microsoft?

Error code 0x0000005D means "CPU Not Compatible".

Either you have a very old CPU which doesn't have all required features (e.g. some Pentium 4s didn't support NX), or the NX bit is disabled in your Bios settings.

Could you post a screenshot of CPU-Z so we can see if your CPU has the required features? Simply use a hoster like ImgBox to upload your screenshot and then post the BBcode link for the image here.

Okay, not from Microsoft  . I upload my CPU supporting above! Here is Coreinfo screenshot:

And here is CPU-Z screenshot:

Also I tell you that previous builds of Windows 10 were installed with any problems!

That Cpu should be okay.

Perhaps a new bug introduced with 9901... I'd say, either wait for the next leaked build and try that one, or install 9879.
