Banjoni
Hello to everyoneRunning W7 on a Laptop, Dell InspironI needed to get a new browser but carried out the procedure wrongly.I should download the new browser before un-installing the old one.Instead I un-installed the existing browser and now I have no browser to access the internet. I click on Google logo and get 'User Account Control' File origin' 'Hard Drive on this computer'. I click on 'Yes'. I get 'The following pages have become unresponsive. You can wait for them to become responsive or you can kill them'. I click on 'Kill them', nothing happens. Thanks for your help Banjoni
+BudMan MVC Posted December 19, 2014 MVC Share Posted December 19, 2014 So you uninstalled, IE would always be there.. If you need a browser then just use another system to download the install and then run it on this machine.

Banjoni
Thanks to everyone for all the info. I will let you know the result. It may be I could download the browser from one PC to the Laptop, but what would be the sequence of operations to do it ?. I do have a USB cable. Thanks Banjoni
whs37
Download the browse (.exe) on PC-A and save it on a flash drive. Then install it on PC-B from the flash drive (double click on the .exe).
The Evil Overlord
how does one uninstall IE? did i read it right? On XP it was do-able Thanks to everyone for all the info. I will let you know the result. It may be I could download the browser from one PC to the Laptop, but what would be the sequence of operations to do it ?. I do have a USB cable. Thanks Banjoni I don't know if you've fixed this or not, if not, try running windows updates, and seeing if IE is available via it, if not, then you might need to save an install file for another browser, (or have another browser handy) to go to Microsoft's website and getting the IE download directly
