AndyD
The problem with using my Live account for login is that I use a pretty long password - meaning every time I have to unlock / log onto my laptop, I have to reach my phone to look up the password in LastPass. I can't have OneDrive without having to switch to my live account? It's going to drive me mad if I have to keep reaching for my phone
HawkMan
You can set windows to unlock with a pin code instead of your full live password, as well as the picture password, but that's imho more of one of those gimmicky password thingies that while more secure than pin, is just to annoying to use to bother with. Also why use such a complicated password, you can have a password that's very simple to remember, that's still just as secure because it's really like, like "Thehotdogatemycheeseburger" You'll never forget such a silly phrase, and it's length makes it just as secure as a complicated password you can't remember, in fact since you can remember it without having to look it up all the time, it's technically more secure for meta reasons. zhangm Supervisor Posted December 23, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted December 23, 2014 If this is an issue with other accounts/passwords as well, then you might consider getting a USB fingerprint reader to simply the process.
link6155
Like what HawkMan said, you can setup a PIN and/or a picture password to use instead of your password. I recommend a PIN over a picture password as it's much quicker and less of a hassle to log in.
AndyD
Thanks guys. I ended up going with a pin password. Zhangm - I remember checking into fingerprint readers but seemed pricey. I think the pin should suffice Hawkman - I kind of prefer to leave it as is for now especially since I would have to change the email password on several devices. The pin should be good enough. I'll likely never lose the laptop since it isn't my primary pc anyway ( and don't commute with it much )
