Xbox One Connectivity Issues? (Please Help!)

Recommended Posts

I have had my Xbox One since about late July, and up until recently my connection has been perfectly fine. I know that the servers have been taken down a bit during this month, but with the servers all up now and all of my friends online, I have encoutered a problem. Every time I get on Xbox I can maybe play for 10-15 Mins. before being disconnected from xbox live, usually at this point i am forced to Restart my console because my router does not even show up in the avialiable networks (my router is specificly a Belkin N300) or sometimes i can go straight to my network settings on my console and reconnect right away, play a few games then restart the entire process. at times i can play seamlessly for a few hours before having these issues, it seems to be at random. I am almost 100% Sure i did nothing wrong with the console, i have never dropped it, i have moved it from place to place but i am very careful with it. I was assuming that this issue was on my ISP end (Comcast) or my Router, but i am not sure what to do about it, and if it was my router i am not sure if i need to change some sort of settings or buy a new one.

If anyone has some information please reply ASAP. Thank you very much. Happy Holidays!

So you lose connection to your wireless and reboot the xbox and it shows back up. It sounds like a problem with the wireless in the xbox. You can try a new router to verify and see. Otherwise it will be a call to ms to have them fix/replace it.

I guess so, only odd thing that i realized about it was that this started occuring 2 weeks ago, and a friend who lived near by was having similar issues with me, so i was assuming ISP

If the xbox can't find the wireless, that is local in your house. Has nothing to do with isp.

Might as well blame the power company when a bulb blows out. After all, it gets power from them.

It's the belkin they tend to overheat over time(mine used to), go buy a decent brand, even my isp provided home hub 5 outperforms my old belkin in every aspect.

Belkin are a decent brand router, have you changed any settings on it?

How good is the connection? Maybe you moved the Xbox one somewhere it isn't getting good connectivity and dropping out?

Is it possible to get an Ethernet connection to the Xbox?

Open up a command terminal on a laptop or PC connected to the same wifi network and run a Ping command. (Eg ping www.google.com) and allow it to run and play on the Xbox one.

When it disconnects check you ping results, if it disconnects it'll tell you the issue is either the router or ISP. If the Ping runs without any disconnects then it's your xbox one.

If you have other wireless devices, I would see if they are also dropping as well.
