Question for you, why do you use Media Tomb and PLex?

is there an advantage to each?

Well, I use PLEX Server because i have several iOS devices, plus some Windows and one Linux machines, PS3, and Chromecast for simplicity and easy to use, just Install the plex client on each device, but this comes with the problem that each time i have to play something on any device, PLEX starts to re-encode in a specific format stream-able in my network, causing great stress in this humble Linux server.

One solution i found is Media Temble, as this one only serves the files without re-encoding, specially util in chromecast that can play MKV painlessly, and some other compatible devices, using very few CPU cycles, barely noticeable.

That's a really nice file manager. I'm getting fed up with the one in eOS Freya, inconsistent, sometimes never loads folders or only partially loads them, and the "one click to open" behavior leads to me accidentally opening a file when I had intended to select more than one (which happens at least once per day).

Some people seem to forget that Freya is still in BETA, so things like that are normal to happen. I use Thunar for everything that the eOS file manager doesn't (yet) let me do (like browsing Windows shares).

And about the one click, you're maybe the only person on this world that DOESN'T install elementary tweaks after eOS install. Try it and you'll se that it has a single click on-off button ;)

P.S. And on-topic:

After seeing all these incredible desktops, I am a bit embarrassed with mine. It's Ubuntu MATE 14.10 (in other words, GNOME the way I like it). For the record, since I took the screenshot, it's dropped to 1'. Cold!
