Studio384
Happy New Year! But it's also the first of the month and we all know what that means: market share data! Whoho! Anyway, I think that someone at NetApplications is about to get fired. Why? Because todays report are just plain wrong. Take a look: Windows 8.0 lost 3,27% market share, Windows 8.1 saw almost 4% market share go up in smoke. Meanwhile, Winodws XP gained 0.7% market share, and Windows 7, too, saw 2% go up in smoke. Where did all this market share go? Windows 10. Windows 10 saw a suddenly spike in market share with 8%. 8%. You're reading it right. Well, actualy, it was 7,64%, but still. Meanwhile, in browser land, Internet Explorer 8 lost another 7% market share. So far so good, we've seen this happen before. However, Internet Explorer 9 lost 5% too, IE10 also lost 5%. Did it all go to IE11? No. IE11 also lost 14% market share. While IE6 also saw its market share vaporize to 0.31%. In total, Internet Explorer lost over 30% of its share, ending at 28,7%. 24% went to Chrome, who suddenly spiked. Firefox and Safari also had to give in a total of 2% of their market share, and together with the other 6% of IE, it all went to.. hold your horses: Netscape, which clocks in at 8% market share. http://www.netmarketshare.com/browser-market-share.aspx?qprid=1&qpcustomb=0 So, what do you guys think: someone went drunk on New Years Eve and decided to do an early 1st April? Studio384
netscape has risen from the ashes but seriously now I've seen the warning. But what's happening this month isn't a simple flaw in their reportings.
vcfan
I've seen the warning. But what's happening this month isn't a simple flaw in their reportings. its probably a flaw in their charting code. ive seen this happen many times before. even if you're looking at the monthly chart, the data changes every day. sometimes before the month is complete, some of the data goes haywire. they eventually fix it a day or two later and bring it back on track.
