Building New Gaming PC

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I want to build a gaming PC -not too much expensive- and I searched on the internet for a while. I found these parts.

Case: Aerocool GT Advance Black Edition (Click here to check.)

RAM: 16 GB Kingston 1600 MHz (Click here to check.) Edit: I can use my current PC's RAM.

Graphic Card: ASUS GTX 750 Ti PH GDDR5 128-bit (Click here to check.) (Alternative: Asus GTX760 DirectCU II O.C. GDDR5 2GB 256Bit Nvidia GeForce DX11.1)

Process: Intel Core i7 4790 1150 3.6 GHz 8MB Cache (Click here to check.)

Motherboard: ASUS H81 Gamer (Click here to check.)

Power Supply: Aerocool 750W PCI-e (Alternative: Aerocool VX 600W 39A@12V PFC)

Driver: ASUS 16x BW-16 D1 HT (Blu-ray)

Sound Card: Creative Audigy Value SE 7.1 PCI (Click here to check.) (Alternative: Xonar DX)

I think, graphic card may be low for this system. Or not. What's your suggestions? I know, to build strong gaming PC is very hard. I guess, I need to reduce some of the hardwares, like RAM, power supply or driver.

I want to play Total War: Rome 2 (and other Total War games), The Elder Scrolls Online, Battlefield 4, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (you know this game is not good without mods on this time)... and more. I have good games to play, but my currently system is not good for that games. I can just play that games with low graphics. It's like torture. :D

Looks good, I'd try to squeeze out $329 for a video card and get a GTX 970. Also recommend and Xbox Wireless Controller for PC $45. Lastly, I have a BD-RE, but really, I don't use it much at all. Unless you have an extensive blu-ray collection, there's nothing you're going to do with it. Streaming HD content has kind of killed its relevance. Also, Blu-ray playback software on the PC is weak. Having said that, they're rather cheap so it's no biggie. though.

Thanks. But GTX 970 is too expensive, and I want to build new system like below:

Aerocool GT-R Black Edition 5
INTEL Core i5-4690K LGA 1150 6MB 3.5GHz Quad Core 22nm
MSI Z97 GAMING 5 DDR3 VGA DVI HDMI DP GLAN(Killer) SATA3 USB3.0
Asus GTX970 STRIX OC GDDR5 4GB 256Bit DX12 Nvidia GeForce

It's still 1059.43$ and my budget is 980$ I know it's not too different with the top budget, but in my country it's very expensive. I mean, when you convert the currency.  :)

Get rid of the Aerocool PSU

Going cheap on a PSU is the telltale sign of someone who doesnt know what they are doing.
Trust me when I tell you that it is NOT something you want to go cheap on.  (cheap meaning junk, no name generic crap)
Brand is just as important as wattage.

Im surprised nobody has picked up on this.

I am not trying to be an ass when I say "sign of someone who doesnt know what they are doing" -- you asked for help, and I am just saying - everytime someone puts together a list of parts - and they say something to the effect of "I need help" - the PSU is always a sign of that.

Rarely do 1st timers go with a good PSU because they think "why spend money ? it doesnt make anything faster ?!?"

Seriously - not trying to be a jerk ;)
