Izlude
I poked myself pretty good on the finger. I got real paranoid and scrubbed it good, but I see a lil dark spot that I can't seem to get rid of (is it a burn? or is it a piece of solder? scaryyyyy) Should I go to the hospital or is it something I can treat at home? I washed it off real good, the skin is a lil raw because it peeled away. I put neosporin and a bandaid. What do you think?
Blaze_Zewi
Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. How did you manage to poke yourself with a soldering iron? As long its not purring blood. You will be fine. Keep treating the effected area with neosporin. The skin will heal by itself.
Izlude
yea no blood... surprisingly my tummy feels all funny... hoping that's just my nerves on end and not poisoning oh yeah, lol it kinda slipped and my finger went into it.
TYT
There's no blood because the iron cauterized the wound. As for lead poisoning, you'd need a lot more than what is tinned on the end of the iron to do any real damage. Neosporin, clean and dress. If you notice red lines appearing leading away from the wound, see a doctor. goretsky 1 Share
Izlude
Aye, ok got'cha. Yeah, I was soldering some capacitors onto a DM (projector screen) it really is awkward how it happened, but it did maybe my sweaty hands... i dunno.
urosepsis
Don't lose any sleep. Solder is hard enough to stick to the best prepped surfaces. firstly, it is most likely a burn mark. Secondly, iron will not leach into the skin at an impressionable rate, as compared to insufflation or ingestion. You have the leisure of time, take a couple days to study your new "mole". If you fancy, take out that fancy smart phone and give the magnetometer a spin. But, anywho, just keep an eye on it, take a pic. Look for movement or discolouration Hell, I still have a rice sized bit stuck in my leg from childhood, 30 years later I can still see it laying beneath the skin. urosepsis Izlude 1 Share
urosepsis
"my tummy feels all funny." Just a vagal response to prodding inside ones own wound. Sit down, have a drink, kick up your feet (most importantly)

siah1214
I hope you ran cool water on it after you poked yourself. Anyway, whatever damage done is done, not going to get any worse.
