Your ISP DL is 10-20 Mbit?

However it seems like you are copying a file, not downloading it (correct me if I'm wrong :)).

I'm getting the same speed:

This is EXACTLY what I am getting. 355 instead of ~1.5 MB/s (ISP MAX).

EDIT: My ISP is 15 Mbit which is theoretical 1.8 MB/s and 1.5 realistic... so I am mad...

30mbps down ... however, I was on a wireless connection at the time I was downloading the file to take the screengrab

Why the special treatment from Microsoft for you? :/

Did you try changing dns servers? also what does your isp say in it's advertised speeds? if it's" up to" then that does not mean a constant speed. it also can depend on the connection, say cable or dsl. downloads can impact that as well. Hope this helps

If I download from nVIDIA's website (Use them as a speed test sometimes as their servers seem quite quick) I get 4.5MB/s - 4.8MB/s.

If I download from OneDrive I have never and do never get anything above 1.5MB/s

This is from NVIDIA:

This is from OneDrive:

Same in Windows too :(

It's not OneDrive

Care to elaborate?

I can download from almost every website at 4.5MB/s - 5.0MB/s but from OneDrive it's stuck at 1.5MB/s and another TWO users are getting 355KB/s.

I have recently switched ISPs and gone from 80Mbps to 50Mbps and on both ISPs I always got 1.5MB/s from OneDrive. Different networks, different DNS servers and it happens on every machine on the network.

Maybe it's something to do with the country you are downloading from :/

I have quite a few clients that use OneDrive.  The issue is probably the ISP or the routing that's throttling.  I can get 4mb/s d/l from my OneDrive.  I'll give you a link in a few.

Oh I didn't even think about that.  I was too quick to post.  It is the country you are in.  One of my clients goes to India a lot and he gets terrible performance there.

I did some research a while back and it seems you can use a proxy to get around the throttling but its not really worth it.  Use a different service or live with the bad performance.

I'm really sorry, I have no idea what is going on tbh.

I've just tried to download again, after connecting to my work VPN and all of a sudden I am getting ~3.7MB/s

I've tried this before and it never worked for me. Disconnected from the VPN and still getting the 1.5MB/s speeds. Must be something to do with my ISP.

Weird how both my old (Sky) and new ISP (EE) get the same speeds whereas connecting to work VPN (BT Business) I get the full speed.

How weird :s

Just noticed this trying to open a video file - usually I sync small files so it doesn't bother me.

They are intentionally throttling downloads to 355 KB/s (3 Megabit/s).

And just searching a bit seems like OneDrive is just not suitable for the post-dialup era,

...

Anyone know a solution? Have similar experiences?

I have Office 365... 1.23 TB space at the moment.

Even if yoru claims where universally true, man you must have had some killer dialup if your dialup was 355KBps.

This is one of the reasons why I think OneDrive is useless, any of my transfers have been throttled to 355KB/s for well over a year now.

I only use OneDrive for the Xbox One Game DVR as their is no alternative. For a few seconds transfers start much faster, however always get limited to a maximum of 355 KB/s when downloading and uploading:

Likewise If I upload a video from the Xbox One the transfer speed is always limited to 3 Megabit/s.

I have 152Mb download and 12Mb upload with Virgin Media, which I can easily max out with SFTP transfers.

What are you copying here? Just run a quick test and I get capped at 1.5MB/s as usual, but if I try to download a folder or a selection of files (So it zips them up) my speeds drop down to very similar to what you are getting.

I get exactly the same speeds, 355 KB/s when trying to copy a file that is available only online, on my Surface Pro 2, from two different connections from different places in the world, Sweden and Macedonia. So it obviously is some issue with OneDrive or some routing path leading to it.

How bizarre, I'm getting the weird 1.5MB/s speeds at work now too :/

It's not just OneDrive for me though, it appears to be any Microsoft site. If I try to download the Windows 10 technical preview I am limited to 1.5MB/s and the same if I try to download from Microsoft's Volume Licensing service centre (I actually sometimes get limited to 80KB/s here) It's intermittent at work though, sometime I get 1.5MB/s and other times it's the maximum bandwidth.

Definitely something weird going on.

its the same on my end. I think its related to MS spamming Onedrive as a service and everyone and their dog is using it. Fair usage bandwidth policy i guess...

Just an MP4 video file which was uploaded to OneDrive from the Xbox One.

Strangely enough if I download from the OneDrive website I get around 1.5Mb:
