Her current laptop is an HP that was a refurb from Walmart and it has been plagued with overheating issues since we bought it. She doesn't need anything extreme, just a simple laptop to do school work on. We bought a Chromebook, but promptly returned it, because it would not work for her schooling. I have had a couple of refurbished dells that had issues and dell took care of them right away. I personally like the core i5 lines, I feel that the i3's seem too slow for some reason. but the inspiron listed above is decent enough.
