Brown vs Blue Cherry MX switches

Recommended Posts

I'm about to get a new keyboard (Corsair K70 RGB) and am wondering what you guys think about the MX Cherry Brown switches.  I'll be gaming as well as typing.  Mostly FPS style games as well as some MMO.  Is there a big difference between the Red switches and the Brown ones?

I've felt the Red ones before (non-RGB Corsair) as well as the Blue (Das Keyboard).  I didn't really care for the Red ones as I think they're too smooth in actuation, if that makes sense.  I also find the Blue to be a little too loud but I love the way it feels as far as typing goes but am not sure about gaming.  Would the MX Cherry Brown switches be a nice middle ground for me?  I've never felt them but after reading about them, it seems they're supposed to be in the middle of Red and Blue.

What do you guys think?  Order the model with the Brown switches or wait until the model with the Blue switches is back in stock and put up with the noise?

I didn't try Blues, but Browns are very nice for typing. There's a distinct tactile feedback without much clicking, although it is more noisy than a rubber dome keyboard. Very happy with these switches both for gaming and typing. I think if you liked how the Blues feel but didn't like the sound, the Browns are exactly what you're looking for.

Right on.  Thanks for your reply!

K70 RGB with the Brown switches ordered!  4-7 days.  Now I play the waiting game.
