I'm a daddy now

Recommended Posts

Last Saturday, I became the father of a really good looking boy. Must take after his mother.  :D

My wife and our son had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days, because of the C-section, but it's good to be home. I'm so happy and tired right now.  :woot:

Congrats, sir. :pacifier::ike:

Please try your best not to emotionally and/or psychologically scar your kid, living amongst the craven madness of others will cause enough as it is.

Thanks for the advice, and solid advice it is. I understand what you mean and I agree wholeheartedly.

I promise you, he's born into a loving family and we'll raise him with respect and care.

Congrats! I have one little girl and kids are aweomse...a lot of work upfront but as they get a little bit older (over 6 months), the tiredness wears off and the fun begins.

Thanks a lot everyone.

The past week has been amazing already. I've barely slept, been pooped on and got peed over and it's been the best time I've had in my life.

I can't wait to get out all the Lego sets that I've been collecting as a kid, playing video games together, and giving him the chance to learn to play a sport and/or musical instrument if he likes to. People tell you stories about how much having a kid changes you... and now I finally know what everyone was talking about.  :D

Welcome to the club!

Hope you didn't have any personal interests or hobbies... because there is no time for them now! :p

Congrats and couldn't have the said the above any better! :)

Congrats...

Enjoy these first 6months... Once your son gets old enough to move around on his own, then your really gonna have to be on your toes.

Curiosity comes with being able to move around.  You may want to move things to higher elevation around month 4 or so.  Just to be ahead of the game...

Congrats. Let us know when this happens, ok brah. And yes, it ill happen! ;)

YouTube Video

Yep, that first flash of cold air when the diaper comes off and the waterworks begin!  I have 3 boys and, believe me, you will experience it.  Here is what I (eventually) learned to keep everyone dry during the change:

1. Open and slide the new diaper into position under the old one

2. Undo and lift the old diaper on the front briefly and then put it down again for a few seconds - the evaporative cooling effect helps them with one last emptying of the bladder and I call it the Lift-n-Close technique ;)

3. Once the child has been cleaned, quickly slide the old diaper out and pull the front of the new one up in quick succession.

I did this regardless of what kind of mess  was in the old diaper and the Lift-n-Close technique was effective even with my baby girl.

It is an exciting (and exhausting) time for you and your wife that you will always remember.  The best to you in your endeavors!

Wow, that is a great user manual. I'm going to try this, thanks.   :D
