Grabbing/ Updating XBL Profile Information on a webpage

Question

I have no coding knowledge but I wanted to slowly learn by reading through code but I wanted to build a small homepage for my browser, so:

How do sites like XboxDVR and TA "grab" (insert proper term?!) your updated data? TA has a max times you can sync your profile because they pull specific achievements etc. I would love to have this info hanging out on my homepage. Mostly build a small section with just:

Profile Picture, my name, last 5-10 achievements, and gamerscore.

I think this would be a fun project, how does this happen? I've tried going through their code but I have no clue if I am looking for scripts or html or what.

Thanks!

When I did mine (ended 2014), I scraped the XBL gamercard then cross matched the last played game ID's against images from the store pages to display game covers.

It's difficult to now do this as now you require authentication to access profiles and I do not think that they expose the data by other means these days.

It's a shame because once upon a time, there was an XML based feed (same setup was used for Zune profiles cards). All this has now ceased to be.

TA is able to pull my achievements, as they happen, as well as all of the other info I mentioned. There are still gamercard sites too, hmm.

They will either have XBL accounts setup to pull the information or they have developer access (Just checked, they have developer access: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/Developers),

Oh ok, so I couldn't do what they're doing even with my own account without a license listed on that link?

Pretty much I'm afraid. I'm not even sure if they're granting developer access anymore now as I can't find anything specific on their website for it (TA's link at the bottom of their website goes to a "cannot be found" page).
