Recently we got a project from a company, according to their IT guy we will need to purchase CAL licenses to access their TFS. is that correct ? isn't CAL license purchased for SERVER and not by client accessing services on server. Thanks It can be server or client based; since it's client based then if you must be accessing a service allocated in a Windows server in a non anonymous way (for example: not a public website) then it must exist CALs for it; if it's the client that has to buy them or you it's another matter, but the fact that someone has to pay for them. I would ask to speak to your (if you have one) or their Microsoft account manager for any queries or disputes on licensing. At least if a mistake is made they're culpable. Raffye.Memon Posted January 23, 2015 Author Share Posted January 23, 2015 @aergan: I have sent query about the license and they responded that they have Processor license ! ok new upate they have Processor license and I guess that allows unlimited users to connect to TFS server, and users(WE) do not need to CAL license right !?
