An_Englishman Posted January 23, 2015 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Hello Everyone, I will be replacing the screen & digitizer on the aforementioned (touch screen) notebook. Looking at the disassembly video it appears it uses glue to help keep it together. This is the first time I've come across one like this that someone wants me to repair. What are your experiences with replacing screens etc with glue? I've done some research and some people recommend double-sided adhesive tape, some mention silicon whilst others state they use super glue. I really don't want to use super glue. Sorry mate, didn't mean to put screen. I'm replacing the glass digitizer only. The screen seems to be working fine underneath. I'm going to be purchasing it on eBay. I've watched a quick disassembly video to see how quick/easy it was to get to the screen. When taking it apart, it was glued to the case of the screen I believe. When taking it apart, it was glued to the case of the screen I believe. To get the screen/digitizer separated, just use a hair dryer or some other way to heat the glass up to loosen the adhesive. Again, thank you. NP. I never done this myself and am going by what I read when I was looking to replace the screen in my GNEX. I opted to pay more for the digitizer with the screen already attached so I wouldnt have to mess with removing the broken glass and attaching the new to the digitizer.
