Mod Question

Recommended Posts

I have a Dell Optiplex 745, unused in my room. It does have some skid marks on the side, that I can't seem to get rid of.

I was just thinking, if I could paint this thing I think it'd look cooler.

Do I have to sand this? Do I need a primer? Do I have to worry about some kinds of spray paint?

What color would be good? Should I do a combo? Maybe put some kind of design on to it?

Let's get whacky here! I'll be sure to post pictures once I am done.

face that side towards the wall = done ;)

Should we put some chrome fan cases on it and led lit sata cables?? Its a computer, why would you be looking at the side of the case..  Taking its the minitower?

Go to your hardware store pick up some purple and pink and go to town..

Sides of those systems are metal/aluminum I believe.  Top, front, bottom are plastic.  Always a good idea to use primer and from mods I have seen for painting an XBOX/Controllers....they all use primer.  At least the good mods do.  Some spray paint has the primer mixed it so look for that as well.

EDIT:  If it is the ultra small form factor system, those are plastic.

If it were me, I would take the side with issue off and spray it with black or silver Hammerite. It's a Dell PC, you're just going to treat it badly and scuff it again - no point putting lipstick on swine.

I'm not that stupid, Rohdekill. I'm a computer enthusiast, and want it looking good because im gunna use it downstairs where everyone will see it.
