cooky560 Veteran Posted January 26, 2015 Veteran Share Posted January 26, 2015 In short I can't find a way of setting a hyper-V on the local machine that allows a greater resolution than 1920 x 1080, even though my native resolution is 4k. I'd like at least the option to set larger resolution VMs, is there any method to do this?
Skiver Veteran Posted January 26, 2015 Veteran Share Posted January 26, 2015 I assume this when you console to the machine? Have you tried RDP? Aergan 1 Share
cooky560 Veteran Posted January 27, 2015 Author Veteran Share Posted January 27, 2015 This Is running it locally on my local machines. Server doesn't have this problem
SledgeNZ
As Skiver said, you need to RDP onto the VM's to get greater resolution. Server doesn't have the problem as you're always using RDP to connect to them. Aergan 1 Share
Gotenks98
Does this happen when you choose enhance session?
cooky560 Veteran Posted January 28, 2015 Author Veteran Share Posted January 28, 2015 on my 8.1 box the option is greyed out.
Skiver Veteran Posted January 28, 2015 Veteran Share Posted January 28, 2015 I believe this is intentional as the virtual video card drivers aren't amazing (something RDP gets around) however I have read that if you change some of the config it allows you. I only have Hyper V setup in a production Cluster environment so I can't try this myself From HyperV Manager:- Select 'Hyper-V Settings' for the host- Under 'Server', Select 'Enhanced Session Mode Policy'- UnCheck 'Enhanced Session Mode'
