How is CPCI different and advantageous than normal PC??

Can someone please tell me about cPCI standards and how to build one??

That link helped me a lot...but i have other questions troubling me.

How many processors can i use in CPCI?

It supports all OS or is there any restriction?

Can i connect multiple CPCI machines? IF yes, then what protocols should i look for?
