At first I thought, "Well the child victim probably felt threatened and the repercussion was the School should suspend study as a disciplinary action, (hopefully) knowing full well the kid had no magical powers".

 

Then I clicked the link read the other reasons for suspension of this student and then thought, "Nah, this School is just retarded". If you don't feel like clicking it, he was suspended for calling a Student Black and bringing a book to school that had an illustrative representation of a Pregnant Woman. He's been at that school for 6 months.

Also, I was suspended once and my parents thought it was stupid. So I got into absolutely no trouble and got a day off school. Needless to say, I did not learn a lesson. The only reason suspension is "punishment" is because in general your parents are very angry at you for it. This boys parent does not seem upset at all. Furthering evidence that this School is stupid.

nah, this is just a continuing trend in the stupidity of the public school system in every state, specifically when it relates to "zero tolerance".

Yup, a continuing trend so common that when it happens it makes national news. As stupid as this is, you would be naive to think it was how things are done on average. I could pull up a much much larger amount of articles everyday on nurses being suspended and loosing their license for shooting up with their patients painkillers, and while it is a problem, statistics show that the vast majority of nurses DO NOT do that.

Well, truth be told, The One Ring is not a toy, it should not be used lightly. If word comes out that this boy possesses The One Ring, being suspended might be the least of his worries.

Exactly. I would say that the entire management at the school needs to be replaced, as clearly there is no application of common sense. To suspend a child for referring to another student as black is absurd, as that is a descriptive term (i.e. it isn't derogatory); to suspend a child for bringing in a book that includes an illustration of pregnancy, a natural biological function, is contemptible. All of the instances would have been better handled by simply informing the child that they weren't appropriate and educating them, rather than resorting immediately to suspension.

 

Suspension should be an absolute last resort. None of the instances mentioned warrant even a detention, let alone suspension. I was suspended from school twice

And I wonder how many others were ignored because they played "Frozen"...?
