Ford Focus RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Ferrari 488 GTB

Recommended Posts

Today (2/3) was a great day for new car releases.

2016 Ford Focus RS

2.3L Ecoboost - 320 HP

AWD

Manual Gearbox

Cayman GT4

3.8L Flat 6 - 385 HP

0-62 MPH: 4.4 seconds

$84,600

2016 Ferrari 488 GTB

3.8L V8 Twin-Turbo, 660 HP, 560 lb-ft

0-60 MPH: 3 seconds

7 speed DCT

Thoughts? I'm a fan of the Cayman GT4 and the Focus RS.

I couldn't care less about the Ferrari - their cars are just meh. In my mind, Porsche and Mclaren are pulling ahead, while Ferrari just has brand power.

this new ferrari looks very fancy, but i am not liking the direction.

its clearly a fancy italian car, but it just does not impress me on the looks. look weird.  some of the older ferraries were STUNNING for their year, and still look very good.  not this.

focus looks ok,   i would like to try it out on a track.  should be fun.

no real thoughts on cayman...

Depending on cost of focus (projected around 40K) you can buy a lot more car in a Mustang GT for less (more hp, larger car, tons of features and a metric poop ton of aftermarket support...turbos, superchargers, engine mods, suspension, transmissions, gearing, etc, etc, etc...it isn't what is out there that limits the modding of a Mustang, it is your wallet.... you want a 8 second street legal 1/4 mile car, it could happen.... you want a show car, it could happen.... you want a car that can handle the twisties better than any german car, it could happen).

Never thought I'd say this about a Ford Focus, but that looks very nice.

From being one massive Ford lover, owning 2 my self over the years, i can say this one is.... They have based it on the ST model... and nothing against it as they have changed the exhaust, given it a different front etc. But at least now it's AWD, 316BHP. You know people will be getting this car up to 500bhp (like the old RS, people got it to i believed 500-600bhp) FWD, so imagine what 500bhp in a awd car will be like.

Cannot wait!
