Cannot install latest Windows updates for W10 Build 9926

I'm running Windows 10 Tech Preview Build 9926, and when I tried to install the latest Windows Update (KB3036140) it is stuck at the update window the the status bar blank at 0% and it won't go anywhere. The problem is even after rebooting the PC, it's still at the same place and I cannot get it to reset so I can try to install the update again.

 

Does anyone have any advice n how I can reset Windows Update in Windows 10 Tech Preview? Thanks.

I've seen that on a few boxes here, only way I've been able to get around it is to apply a reg tweak and use the old style WU applet in the control panel.

 

Here's the tweak:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX]
"IsConvergedUpdateStackEnabled"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings]

Maybe try downloading it from Microsoft Update Catalog

sorry to hijack the thread, have the same issue with Windows 10 it is stuck in 0% or 1% forever

 

but I renumber there was a way before to reset Windows update component in W8.1/7

 

anyone got clue?

I had this issue and at the time I was downloading music (spotify). As soon as spotify had finished windows update started moving, maybe it pauses when there are downloads going or something?

I just wish I could FIND Windows Update again. :-D

 

I know they moved it, but I can't find it.
