Technique
I got the service installed in December & immediately ran a speed test (having been on 6mbps for years). 38mbps download, 8.50mbps upload. Over time this has come down to today 22-24mbps download although the upload hasn't changed. I'm not yet living there at the house so all i've been doing is plugging the router in, using the net (a few minutes, a few hours, it varies) & then unplugging it again. I've left it on overnight tonight to see if it makes a difference. Why would there be such a dramatic drop though?
metallithrax
Number of people using the same lines. If it's anything like VM anyway. I pay for 50MB and get between 3-5MB. They tell me it is high utilization, so they reduce speeds during peak times. Not saying that is your problem, but the more people on the lines the slower the speeds are. ToneKnee
All depends on the line conditions and crosstalk from any other houses that have Infinity as well. If it's line conditions then this can vary between night and day depending on noise levels on the line from things like street lights etc. Also, when you get a new line it's normal for it to sync at high speeds then slowly come down in speed until the line is stable enough. If it's down to cross talk then there is nothing you can do until BT rollout Vectoring which can help cases like crosstalk.
