Windows 10 for phones new messaging feature?

Recommended Posts

I had a new Nokia 635 Go Phone around without a SIM card in it that I bought as emergency phone. The other day I opened it up and restored my settings from my current 1020. I then upgraded it to the Windows 10 preview. The first thing I noticed is that it retained the standard transparent tiles and look of my home screen. The background image only was showing through the tiles.

However the most interesting thing that is happening it that when I receive or send a SMS or MMS with my 1020, I see them on the 635 which is connected on WiFi only. Hopefully this means that this feature can come to the desktop too. I tried to send a SMS message from the 635 but I get a SIM card missing or damaged error. I don't know if this happened before the upgrade since I never used it Windows Phone 8.1, I just upgraded it right away.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?
