Looking for an inexpensive 22" or 23" monitor

Recommended Posts

This is to complete my new office.  It won't do any gaming or movie watching.  It is strictly for office work...so internet, word processing, email, etc...  I am looking at spending no more than $150 on it.

So far I am thinking of:

Viewsonic 23" for $157: http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2370SMH-LED-23-Inch-SuperClear-Frameless/dp/B008RM235I/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1424204616&sr=1-3&keywords=VA2349s

Or the Viewsonic 22" model for $139

Or this Viewsonic 22" for $119: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D78QCYK/ref=psdc_1292115011_t2_B009F1HUMQ

Any other suggestions?

That acer one looked neat.  Too bad it is out of stock.

There are more stores carry this model:

http://www.amazon.com/Acer-G247HL-bid-24-inch-Widescreen/dp/B00N913M0W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424208346&sr=8-1&keywords=G247HL

:D

If the store has the model that is out of stock, check the rest of the stores whatever you think of, such as Amazon, WalMart, Best Buy, etc.

Best Buy has 27" Acer similar to 24" model but cost more.

Thought you like Acer model which you said it looks neat.

Only 3 dollars difference.   The one I posted is 139. The one you found is 136. 3 dollars in pocket, oh boy!

The acer one though is not available with amazon prime whereas the viewsonic one is.  That is the difference.  Either one though would be great.

That's not to say I won't buy something that isn't available through prime but I do try to whenever possible.  I am torn between the viewsonic and the acer.

I can't quibble about my Acer XH233H.bmid; bought it in 2009 with "first stimulus" money, and still soldiering on today.

It does 1080p reliably through any of the three ports - DVI (either DVI-I or DVI-D), Olde Schoole D-sub, or HDMI 1.4a - even 1080p/75 via DVI-D or HDMI.

Unless it fails, the only reason I'd replace it is if a better display for the same price became available.

Also, unlike most triple-port low-end displays, it actually included cables for all possible inputs; most today STILL lack cables for for all possible inputs.

Mom has a similar (except size) XH243H.bmid - it was retired when Mom went to an AIO with a touch-screen display.

I'll throw this ACER in for consideration

I've not had any problems with any of the acer monitors I've had over the years, the only reason I got rid of them was because a bigger monitor would turn up for the right price.
