nukenorman
So the newer LG phones have the power button and volume buttons on the back. So wouldn't when you lay down the phone on a surface accidentally turn off the phone or mess up the volume controls? Plus having to knock pjone on flat surface seems like it would be annoying. I want to get an LG phone but this design seems flawed. Am I missing something?

Am I missing something? nope never happens for me i have a LG G2 from Verizon . as for the knock on the screen that can be turned off in settings and well it is not annoying as it is faster to wake up the phone you just tap on the screen

techbeck
Thanks. Wonder how phone does not turn off due to laying down on power button. I just tested my LG G2, turned it on, and pressed hard on the where the power button was on a flat surface. Stayed on and no volume issues either. And looking closer, there is a plastic ridge/border that wraps around the controls as well as the camera. The plastic ridge is about level with the top of the keys. So when you press down on the phone, the ridge/border is taking the pressure...not the keys.
+E.Worm Jimmy Subscriber¹ Posted February 24, 2015 Subscriber¹ Share Posted February 24, 2015 it is a non- issue. everyone who i know, who owns G2 or G3 - love the phone. clearly they thought about this issue before making the phone this way. in fact, i hated all the LG phones, until G2 and nexus. they finally are making great phones now. LUTZIFER
I love where the buttons are on the LG G3. Best button placement ever. Makes a phone so much nicer looking when you don't have buttons sticking out everywhere, and where LG has placed them, you hardly even notice them, but they are in the perfect place for your finger, makes so much sense. They are sunken in, so there's no chance of them getting touched by accident. I will never buy a phone that doesn't have the buttons in the same spot as LG has ever now. Gotta love LG, always a leap ahead of everyone else.
MS Bob 11
They never get pressed if you put down the phone flat. They only get pressed if you place the phone leaning horizontally on something, with the top portion slightly raised.
