Guess that answers the question from the NPD topic that digital sales are shared. Happy to see RE HD feature, hopefully shows Capcom that survival horror can do well.

I bought RE HD, purely as it was a cross platform purchase, but when I loaded it up, I had to switch it off, it lame compared to my memory of the game

This coming from someone who loves the RE series

It was my first time playing through it. I only ever played classic RE and RE Directors Cut. Lame in what way? It's aged a fair bit, but I still had a great time.

"Digital" is a dumb name, but is this worldwide figures?

Yeah it's worldwide.

AB, I loved PSX RE and RE DC, To this day, still my all time favourites, I did enjoy the GC version of RE zero (I think) But I just didn't 'feel' the tension like I used to, and to avoid spoiling the memory, I decided not to play it.

Back on topic, I'm surprised by the figures posted, as you're forced to pay full retail for an incredibly long time for some games, when the physical can be bought used for a pittance in comparison, and if someome is a high turnover gamer, digital has no resale value...

But I'm just recycling old statements in saying that.

I guess I'm old school, rofl.

I have #7 digital (PC, PS3/Vita, PS4) and that's it.

I do have #1 physical for the PS3.

I have zero interest in anything else on the list.

What I am playing, just in case anyone is curious since I don't like the ones on this list, is Dragon Age, Shadow of Mordor, and Diablo III (couch co-op)... none of which I have digital. Although this says DLC is counted so I DO buy my DLC digital. Besides Minecraft and things I've gotten through PS+ the only digital full games I can think of that I have is Trials Fusion and Infamous: First Light (which I considered DLC since I have Second Son on disc but technically it's a stand alone game I could have gotten a disc for.)

Well it says "Digital console games", so by that usage, there must be an "Analog console games"  :s   :woot:

Maybe they should have called it "Downloaded console games"?

I guess the "Digital" comes from "Digital Distribution" (which makes sense) but dropping the "Distribution" does make it nonsensical when taken literally.

So yeah, I guess they could have also said "Digitally distributed console games" and been more correct.

What would an analog console game be anyway... a board game?

Yep. And when you lose, instead of throwing the controller, you tip the board over and accuse everyone else of cheating!

Well clearly they must be cheating... there is no other logical explanation of how I could possibly lose.

I think it might be wishful thinking that the sales of RE HD tell Capcom that the genre has promise sales wise.

I would hazard a guess that there was a lot of nostalgic purchases that drove up that number. Heck, I was one of those. Love seeing it again, but it just reminds why I don't care for the newer RE games.
