LimeMaster
I know this may sound weird, but can you developers please remove the ability to change the font in posts? You see, I'm not a big fan on of the available options, and the font changes from random posts seem oddly annoying. It sort-of makes me skip over the post. Thanks in advance! Hope you take my suggestion into consideration.
zhangm Supervisor Posted March 5, 2015 Supervisor Share Posted March 5, 2015 Why not set fonts on the client side using something like a custom stylesheet? [class="post entry-content "], [class="post entry-content "] span, [class="post entry-content "] .citation, [class="post entry-content "] [class="ipsBlockquote built"] { font: 22px "Comic Sans MS" !important; }
+E.Worm Jimmy Subscriber¹ Posted March 5, 2015 Subscriber¹ Share Posted March 5, 2015 actually, i agree, while formatting is useful.... the font choice is not very useful or helpful in any way... and it is a bit distracting. +E.Worm Jimmy Subscriber¹ Posted March 5, 2015 Subscriber¹ Share Posted March 5, 2015 wha... what were you saying? i am saying, removing the choice of font is actually a great idea. leave the formatting options and even size options, but only keep one font. that way, we can avoid some members posting in a different font, and looking completely out of the place, and annoying to read, since everyone else is using the default font. font coloring is also unneeded, really. no one uses it productively. but at least no one abuses it a lot. Brandon H Supervisor Posted March 5, 2015 Supervisor Share Posted March 5, 2015 font color can actually be useful every now and then. I personally use it to make extra emphases on bolded or italic text (i usually use red for this) but other than that I don't see much use for color either (still more useful than changing fonts though ) tl:dr I agree with the removal of font changes but colors can stay +E.Worm Jimmy and LimeMaster 2 Share

Well, ideally whoever uses that snippet would choose a font and size that they like, just replace the size and font name... I'm not sure what the default is, but looking through the list, Tahoma, Trebuchet, and Verdana are all perfectly readable sans-serif fonts that work well for web display. It's probably also worth expanding it to accommodate monospace font usage, like for code blocks.

Whist the fonts are readable, posts should all maintain the same font to ensure that the readability stays the same instead of having to adjust your eyes to a new font. It's not really a necessary feature. Some of the posts found here are a perfect example of unnecessary font changes.

Nick H. Supervisor Posted March 5, 2015 Supervisor Share Posted March 5, 2015 "Consistency." If we're being pedantic. I agree that the change of font can be frustrating, but I can't say that it annoys me enough to cause me serious issues.
LimeMaster
Oops! Be a gentlemod & fix the title for me. And oh my god, this is the first time ever that you've partly agreed with me. I'm sure you would fully agree with me if you had bad eyes like I do.
