Dane
So I am trying to install Windows 8.1 from my flash drive to my brand new Samsung 850 EVO 120 Gig. I boot from the flash drive, start the setup and select the drive and it says: windows couldn't install 0x80300024 I used diskpart to do a clean as it was mentioned somewhere online for the same issue but that didn't fix it. What can I do? http://i.imgur.com/4GruqJi.jpg
Eric Veteran Posted March 5, 2015 Veteran Share Posted March 5, 2015 That error code usually indicates there isn't enough room to install. Did you try removing all of the partitions on the SSD and running setup with only that drive connected?
Night Prowler
The installation is most likely seeing another drive that is interfering with the install. My solution was to remove all the drives (unplug), and then install. Be careful because Windows 8 may write the reserved partition to a completely different drive if there is one installed, and there is available space. netty2014
disconnect any other drives installed try running a 32 bit ISO first what ever partitions are showing when you get back to that screen delete them from the last one first and create one partition out of it all then try your flash drive again maybe use a different copy like http://wintoflash.com/download/en/%C2"'> a newer one that will rip 8.1 to a flash pen reboot and windows 8 will lay down its own partitions add your other drives later when its in. Dane
Do have a new issue. I disconnected everything, installed it just fine and it boots correctly. Turned it off, reconnected the other drives, and now in the new install the other drives do not show up at all. How do I fix this? Edit: Fixed it.
