Hey all - I just installed Pidgin last week as a replacement for Google Talk. I've used Google Talk for about 12 years, or since its inception. I loved it. It was simple. It worked. Anyway, Google discontinued it, so I'm now using Pidgin.
Pidgin works fine for the most part. There are a couple quirks that I cant figure out, though.
1. I appear Offline to most of my contacts even though Pidgin clearly says I'm 'available.' I think this is a setting in my Google account somewhere, but for the life of me i cant find any status indicator.
2. Contacts on my Buddy list keep reappearing after i manually remove them. If I right-click a user and choose either "remove" or "unsubscribe", it'll work for a couple hours then they reappear in the list. Again, i think this is due to a sync in my Google account, but i cannot figure it out.
