liamgreen
I've been searching the net for the last couple of hours and i've found nothing. I remember when Microsoft had that technet subscription where you could download windows iso files. (Hope i'm correct there) What i need is a place (legally of course) that lets you download All versions of Windows XP/Vista/7/8 & 8.1. Because i've been sent the job of creating these bootable USB/CD/DVD devices for a computer shop near me. Does anyone on here know of a place to get these said files, legally of course. or am i going to need to get the genuine windows dvd's and then make my own iso from the disk? There has to be a place surly?
Romero
I've been searching the net for the last couple of hours and i've found nothing. Strange. Links like these should have been extremely easy to locate since I found them after just a few seconds: http://www.howtogeek.com/186775/how-to-download-windows-7-8-and-8.1-installation-media-legally/ I don't know of any non-MS site that allows you to download XP and Vista images legally for free however, so you'll probably need a TechNet or MSDN subscription for those. liamgreen 1 Share

Ahh yeah i found that website. But it's not direct ISO download. I can't download Windows 8 iso file and then use http://code.kliu.org/misc/winisoutils/ to make that windows 8 iso a iso with all Windows 8 versions in it. Using that tool on that website. I'd need to create a bootable USB for every single version of Windows 8 and do the same for Windows 8.1...
Praetor
digitalriver has them, but not for 8.x. anyways, what do you pretend to do with them? maybe we can help getting a solution +E.Worm Jimmy 1 Share

You can always create your own Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 ISO file if you have a valid product key.
xendrome
Try this for Windows 8.1? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media You can always create your own Windows 8.1 ISO file if you have a valid product key. Quite obviously you've never used it or else you wouldn't say so. digitalriver has them, but not for 8.x. anyways, what do you pretend to do with them? maybe we can help getting a solution The DigitalRiver links for Win7 (and probably other versions too) are now long gone. goretsky 1 Share
Ian W
See my post. I honestly did not see that webpage before. I always used the other method.
Praetor
The DigitalRiver links for Win7 (and probably other versions too) are now long gone. yeah i've notice that right now (didn't use it since ages ago); but it's OK since one can now download the ISO directly from MS instead a distributor. Vista and XP, however, are much more difficult to download now. I have them all since i have access to VL, but even the Home editions aren't available in VL website, only on DigitalRiver. Not completely OK since the Win7 ISO download provided by MS doesn't work with OEM keys. So people who got it pre-installed with OEM crapware have no way to legally get a clean copy for free (unless their OEM obliges which will probably never happen). I personally think this is shortsighted of MS. Thankfully their Win8 media creation tool requires no key entry any more.

Romero
oh didn't know that. that's a crap Yeah, but anyway in a pinch for personal (i.e. non work-related) needs I suppose one can condone downloading unmodified ISOs (without cracks/patches/keys) via torrents, just as long as the files are verified using official SHA1 hashes. Nicholas Zuccarelli
If you're in university you can ask your uni for a Microsoft Dreamspark subscription which gives you access to a tonne of Windows ISOs and genuine product keys for free
