Clear type and other menu effects disabled

I just went to turn cleartype on...and this is wut i saw... :(

anyone know how to enable them again?

(yes i've tried the Netmeeting procedure that i've read on other boards b4)

What about reinstalling windows xp again, im sure that will solve the problem... the problem you got is really weird, is supposed that you can turn on and turn off clear type. Better, reinstall :D

Hey guys don't you all see that the file is corrupt ? you need to re-install XP or better still do a repair installation. I do the repair installation whenever I cannot find or access a file or a folder and after which it is there where it should be.

Try this: open System properties, go in AdvancedPerformanceVisual options, and control if "Smoth edges of screen fonts" is checked. This could do the trick.

another solution (if this doesn't work): open Regedit, and look for this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop. On the right window you'll see a lot of options: to activate Clear Type, "FontSmoothingType" must be set to 2.

FontSmoothingType is set to 2

have you been using the group policy editor (gpedit.msc)?
yes, but only for the 20% more bandwidth tweak posted on these forums
there are also some tweaking progs for xp, and they can do that

i had tweakXP on my computer for about 10 minutes and i didn't

change anything with it
