Windows Feedback asking about Mozilla FF

Recommended Posts

So I received build 10041 yesterday. I had a surprise popup question from Windows Feedback asking me whether I'm happy with Firefox!? It's not even their product lol.

The Feedback app asks about all apps and programs that are installed on your device, no matter if they are made by Microsoft or not. This is for Microsoft to go and check out bugs that appear in Windows 10 and not in earlier versions and see if they have to fix it on their side, or if it is poor coding in a program you're running.

In 10049, you will now be prompted to give feedback on if you'd recommend Firefox to a friend or colleague, and why.

This is interesting, I wonder if they'll do this for other products (Spotify, google docs, etc) that compete with Microsoft's products. It's a good idea, to try to get a handle on why people are using your competitor's software by simply asking them directly.

It's the same prompt in 10041 where they ask you how likely you are to recommend Internet Explorer to a friend.

Perhaps they are just grabbing whatever your default browser is, and asking about it?

My default is IE and it still asked me for feedback on Firefox. It is definitely weird for them to ask feedback on third party programs.
