Free family tree software?

Question

So, I made the stupid decision to help my girlfriend with her project concerning some of the Danish Royal Family.

I didn't think it would be a big deal to create a family tree consisting of ~60 people. Apparantly I was wrong. Seems like all of the programs out there are either expensive or... rather poor. I tried Gramps, which was horrible. I tried Visio, which clearly isn't built for that. I tried a few others as well. All of them horrible.

Are there any great recommendations? Preferrably an online tool with some sort of drag 'n' drop.. you know, a modern tool ('web 2.0'-ish).

Last resort is Paint, but I'd rather not go down that road :)

I used Ancestry for a while, and it was freak'n awesome. It's far too expensive though considering people do most of the work for them, so I left. I ended up using Geni.com which is decent; not as pretty, but it's free.

Is there anyway to switch the position of husband and wife? I'd like to have the wife on the left side, if possible :-)
