Roger H. Veteran Posted March 24, 2015 Veteran Share Posted March 24, 2015 Ok, so Server is 2008 R2 with SP2. Had a RAID-1 drive failed some time ago (not sure exactly when, few days) but the server kept running because of the other good drive (remember, RAID-1 - dunno why SCOM didnt throw up alerts for it but thats another story). I was alerted for performance reasons and checked out the server. Once logged in via RDP i noticed the dead drive and also other small issues and other unrelated issues and fixed those. For the dead drive, I shutdown the server and had the local IT guy replace the dead drive. Checked in the controller and saw it was fixing itself once the new drive was added (mirroring - before it was in a Degraded state). Now its all fully functional but i go to start windows and getting the error Process1_Initilization_Failed which i found out is related to Bootcat.cache so i deleted that file but still getting the same BSODs. Anyyone got any tips as to what else i can try as ive tried everything known to man and all on this page: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/bsod-process1initializationfailed/aaa6d93d-423b-458d-bdf6-32693cb5d587 My next is to just reinstall Windows via the CD/ISO which should just fix the Windows files but not delete other data. The server is a Netbackup Master so i might attempt to do a Bare Metal Restore first from tapes but just asking for any other ideas before i go there. sc302 Veteran Posted March 24, 2015 Veteran Share Posted March 24, 2015 Try physically reversing the drives and see what happens. Make drive 1 drive 0 and drive 0 drive 1. I have had success doing that.
