spaceelf
First run with 15.3 8.1 drivers in win10 10041 http://www.3dmark.com/aot/3302 Second run with win10s 10041s current AMD drivers http://www.3dmark.com/aot/3447 ...wow. I can't really say if my system was doing anything in the background or not (seems like it, but not something I can stop myself) but that's damn nice. I'm going back to 8.1 for now so I can't retest either. I test too many things +Zlip792 1 Share
notchinese
I'm curious if that actually results in better performance, or if the benchmark was written in such a way that its not a great real world analog.
spaceelf
It's not a direct analog as there's certainly more to do in a scene than just drawing things, but it does point out the obvious fact that DX11 is extremely underperforming in some areas. theyarecomingforyou
That's quite an impressive jump, even on just the DX11 results. I'm looking forward to Windows 10 becoming stable enough to use as a daily driver, as right now it's unusable for me. These are my results for DX11 on Windows 8.1: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/6375457
spaceelf
To be perfectly honest I think I should be done with win10 until launch. I love checking it out but it just causes pain so far.

Ditto. The latest nVidia drivers hosed my 10041 install after upgrading from 8.1 - doing a clean install fixed that problem, only for me to discover that they've broken support for my soundcard. The earlier builds were at least usable despite their problems. I have zero confidence in Windows 10 at the moment.
spaceelf
Higher end kit benches http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/3DMark-API-Overhead-Feature-Test-Early-DX12-Performance Man I probably bought the wrong proc for DX11 games, but oh well It won't matter that much anymore soon, since I doubt anything'll go too crazy on Mantle/Vulkan or DX12 for years.
