GNU / Linux April 2015 Desktops - Posting Guidelines

- Embedded images should be smaller than or equal to 1440x900 (preferably 1024x768).
- The file size for image previews should be no larger than 750 KB.
- Images linked externally should be no larger than 3 MB.

- If you plan to img-embed your desktop, please try to keep it under 100k (It's recommended that you link it, externally).
- Stay within the board rules, no matter how yummy you may believe it to be.
- If you are going to quote, there isn't a need to quote an img-embeded picture - Just don't do it. Please just reference the post by page number/page link/etc.
The desktops thread is not to be used as a means to post images of a pornographic or otherwise provocative nature. We do not support a babes forum and neither will we in an unofficial capacity. Please help to keep the thread relevant and safe to browse for everyone.
- The moderators of this forum reserve the right to edit or remove your posts as necessary so they may comply with our Community Rules and so that this thread remains on topic.

- In the interests of keeping the thread on topic it is strongly urged that you format your posts in the following order:

Themes: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).
Wallpaper: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).
Icons: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).
Programs: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

What version of Linux is this? Fedora? Debian?

 

 

Think that's a fork of Ubuntu. Maybe EduBuntu?

 

Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 (not yet a final realise, however it's stable enough for daily use)

Icons: Inspire (Own made icon set) (Not yet ready for Public release).

Programs: Firefox, Gedit (Ubuntu), Conky (Time widget), Cinnamon (Desktop Environment).

OS in use: feren OS Linux (Not released... yet.) (Ubuntu Distribution)

Theme: Mist (included in LXAppearance 0.5.5) + Adwaita-ob (http://box-look.org/content/show.php/Adwaita-openbox?content=155042) + Segoe UI font

 

Wallpaper: "Lighthouse" from Elementary OS Luna wallpaper collection (http://elementary.io/journal/luna-wallpapers-officially-revealed)

 

Icons: Ultra Flat Icons, got it on GNOME-Look.org but now it's gone, you can get them here http://www.noobslab.com/2015/01/make-linux-more-elegant-with-ultra-flat.html

 

Programs: PCManFM 1.2.0 (Default Window Manager) and Firefox 37.0.1

To guitmz: Thnx man! You can always check my signature to go to our website and click on 'feren OS' where you'll be able to download it when it is released... Just need to finish the icon set and add some more apps to it and I'm done developing the first version!

When it comes to pc's.. yea. I have Visual Studio set for the dark theme, notepad++ for dark theme.. I dunno just easier on the eyes.

have you any idea since when gedit has this nice userbar?

i tried gnome 3.6 lately but afair gedit looked still like the old default.

 

edit: my bad, just launched gedit and yep it has this nice userbar :)

 

if gnome just could implement it for ALL applications ......
