compl3x
Okay. Simple enough. I want to take some of the .wtv files, which are the WMC recorded tv files and convert them into a more usable format. Simply to MP4 or MKV. I'd also like to be able to trim the start and end, and perhaps remove ads. I tried to use handbrake but some of the files just stop converting at random percentages. MC-TV converter is just .blah. Windows movie maker had sync issues with the output. Is there any decent software where I can just input the file, edit how I see fit, and output the file in a common format? Thanks.

Rippleman
I use and love Freemake. If you do install it, make sure to UNCHECK the adware that is packaged with it. Why can compl3x 1 Share
compl3x
Ahhh Freemake. I think I used this ages ago but completely forgot about it! Thanks Rippleman.
MorganX
https://mcebuddy2x.codeplex.com/ ? +1 If you donate, the most current versions use CUDA to really cut down on conversion time. Ad removal is excellent as well. Excellent video/audio quality.
compl3x
MCEbuddy looks interesting. Freemake seems to be doing everything I need though. Rippleman wasn't kidding about the adware, it attempts 3 different package installs & makes it look like one of the radio buttons is greyed out so it can't be selected. Very sneaky. BinaryData
I use MeGUI to do all my encoding. This is a bit more of an advanced tool. I re-encode most of the anime or tv-shows I download. I've gotten my media collection down by about 45%. Most movies (1080p) go to 720p and are about 500mb a piece. My tv-shows are 190 - 210mb a piece. There is also a paid program called "Xilisoft". I used that to put music videos on my iPod.
compl3x
OK. I appreciate everyone's suggestions. I think for now I will stick with freemake. Thanks again, Rippleman. Rippleman 1 Share
