failing to install audio driver on windows 8.1 , need to remove completly

Hi

 

I have some issue with the Realtek driver for my LATITUDE 3440

 

with windows 8.1

 

i faced some issue once while having a meeting on some software so tried to reinstall the driver but failed

 

Restore helped once but not all functions were working so tried again

 

now all restore points include the non working driver

 

tried the safe mode too with no luck

 

i tried number of drivers and all fail and showing not compatible , even trying the device manager to upgrade takes time , find driver online , download and fail due to time out

 

my question is , any way to make sure all files related to the audio deleted

 

shall i go to

 

%windir%\inf

 

and delete some files ? what is the name of that file ?

 

tried also to view hidden files and delete inactive drivers with no luck

after alot of tries

 

found that installing the default realtek driver solve the issue

 

but please advise on the correct way to remove the unwanted drivers which can be found when trying to find the driver manually
