Best ASP.NET / PHP Host

Question

I apologize if this is not the right place for this.  What is everybody's thoughts about GoDaddy?  What are the best ASP.NET AND PHP hosting?

I had had Arvixe for years.  Unfortunately, I have had numerous issues with them lately and am just fed up.  It is the perfect time to do this since I am rolling out a new website.

People seem to like Hostgator, but they are only Linux/PHP from what I can see.

Arvixe support has become so horrible, I think anything would be better at this point.

I need ASP.NET for a main website, and PHP for the IP.Board community.

Probably better getting an ASP.NET and PHP host separately unless you really need to put them on one box. PHP is really at home on the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack so you'll be better off putting that on Linux (though it works fine on Windows hosts). ASP.NET works best on IIS and Windows (for now... ASP.NET 5 looks to change this).

Back before I hosted my own stuff for everything DiscountASP was the better host for ASP.NET. Host Gator is good for PHP/LAMP.

if you're comfortable with cloud hosting why not try Azure?  you can run either and you have full scalability control.  It won't be the cheapest thing out there but I run a large number of websites (+ other stuff) and Azure's been an amazing host.

Doesn't Azure cost like $175 a month?

Nope, Azure costs as little as "free" (for Azure Web Apps, previously called Azure Websites...) with which you can host PHP/ASP.NET sites, but then you can't use your own domain. $10/mth for the lowest-end to keep up and running if you want to use your own domain or use SSL: http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/app-service/ Also note that outgoing bandwidth beyond the first 5GB/mth is chargeable.

Of course Azure does have higher-end plans if you have higher demands, and those can cost much more. You can use the calculator here: http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/calculator/

Yeah that is where I got the $175 a month from.  I have a few website and host several large files.

Why is every host horrible at support?  I am getting frustrated with GoDaddy already :(.  Are there any GOOD hosts anymore?
