The Xperia Z4 features a similar OmniBalance design as previous high-end offerings in the Xperia Z series, with the device boasting upgraded hardware in the form of a Snapdragon 810 SoC.

Other specs of the Xperia Z4 include a 5.2-inch full-HD display, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot that can accommodate 128GB memory cards, 20.7MP camera at the back with a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor and BIONZ image processor along with a 5.1MP front shooter, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and a 2,930mAh battery. Also included is support for LDAC, Sony's audio technology that promises high-quality audio via Bluetooth. Software-wise, the phone will offer Android 5.0 out of the box.

With a thickness of 6.9mm and weight of 144g, Sony's latest handset is thinner and lighter than the Xperia Z3. The sides of the device feature a metal frame, with the most noticeable chnge design-wise being the exposed micro-USB charging port. The Xperia Z4 will be available in White, Black, Copper and Aqua Green color variants, and is certified IP6X for dust and IPX5/IPX8 for water, allowing it to be submerged in up to 4.92 feet of water for over 30 minutes.

Sony intends to launch the phone in Japan sometime over the summer, with no word on pricing at this stage.
