hagjohn
I'm trying to add a user on windows 8.1 (fully updated). I get it created but when I log into the account, "Please Wait" just sits there (Like it's frozen - circle not moving). The hard drive light is mostly flashing. How long does it normally take to create a new user. It does have Office and ACT! on the computer.
+devHead Subscriber² Posted April 27, 2015 Subscriber² Share Posted April 27, 2015 You might want to log back into your account, and enable 'Display highly detailed status messages' in Local Group Policy Editor (Computer Configuration > System > Display highly detailed status messages) Open the Local Group Policy Editor by either doing a search for gpedit.msc, or simply type that in a Run dialog box. This might tell you whether something is being held up when the new user is being created. But it probably does take several minutes. If it hasn't logged in after 15-20 minutes, I'd say something is wrong. Are you creating a user account that's attached to a Windows Account, or just a local user on the machine?
