dlf
Fresh install of Ubuntu 15.04 . . . I want: to remove redundant (useless, imo) programs - thunderbird (If firefox is always open and I have an extension that tells me of new messages why do I need this?), trasmission (replaced with Deluge), Rhythmbox (clementine), Cheese Webcam booth (I don't have a webcam, so why have this installed?), AiseRiot Soiltiaire (Kpatience), Sudoku (never cared to do any), wacom tablet (I don't use a tablet at all, why do i need the package and settings?) To have the various desktop environments To have the various desktop transition effects (with windows, the cube) To use Steam (& if possible GOG for the few Linux games I have on it) To not have to reformat again . . . . Backup when I'm all done . . . .
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted April 28, 2015 Moderator Share Posted April 28, 2015 After you are all and done, I suggest you use clonezilla and clone your system. So you'd never need to reformat. All you settings are saved.
