UAC assistance in Windows 8.1 with task scheduler

Recommended Posts

I just finally took the plunge and left WIndows 7 goodbye last weekend so I could move on.

I just finished re-installing my apps and configuration settings and noticed something annoying. Since the XP days I always create 2 accounts on my machines. One for administrator, one for users for security and good design. I have one app suite called Asus AI suite 3 which is not well written that requires administrator priveldges for things like my USB 3 fast charge, cpu fan control, EFI bios updater, and other motherboard functions.

Under Windows 7 it asks for a UAC prompt when I boot up and I have to type the password for my administrator account each time to run each component. I only have 3 I care about but knowing I won't be hacked didn't mind it.

Under Windows 8.1 they do not load at all. When I select my Super User account for administrative tasks they load fine.

Is there a way I can get Windows 8.1 to prompt me each time at login? They are listed in task scheduler just like under Windows 7.
