Power connector question

Recommended Posts

Getting ready to pop in a GTX 960 into my system, old card only used a 6 pin plug for supplemental, new one uses a 6 and 8 pin

Looking at my PSU I have two 6 pins and one has an additional 2 pin plug attached, would that work fine as an 8 pin? And if so, does it matter on what side it goes on?

Yes it matters.  Looking top down...it goes on the left side (so the main clip is centerish).  If you put it on the right side (or upside down) ... you wouldn't be able to plug it in anyway without noticing something obviously wrong.

Edit:  I would also blow some of that dust outta there. :)
