presence06 Posted May 5, 2015 Share Posted May 5, 2015 My girlfriends old 13" HP Laptop finally took a dump on her. She only really will use one for Pinterest and Facebook, and browsing the internet. She does also like scrapbooking. I was looking at picking up a 15" Lenovo G50 Series and upgrading to an SSD? The network card on that laptop is 10/100, while most likely you'll just be using it on wifi, it's a sign of a very low end chipset which can the laptop run ever more slow.. Have you tried finding a used laptop off craigslist with an i5? I've messed with a few of those i3 low end laptops, and they are painfully slow.. I know that she is not doing any major with the laptop, but it still can provide a frustrating experience. Edit: After doing some research, it seems that model isn't plagued with same crap that caused the other low end laptops to be painfully slow. That looks like a good deal.. Amazon users have complained about Lenovo's use of Superfish on this but you can remove it.. It has some decent reviews otherwise.. I'd probably downgrade to Windows 7 if I went with that machine. It's actually very easy to walk into any store and find one that meets those requirements.
