Office 2016 Preview - Annoying Prompt

Question

I installed the the Office 2016 Preview the other day, and every day when I start it, one of the programs brings up the annoying yellow bar telling me the trial version will expire in 177 (now) days, and gives me a button to click 'Buy'.  Of course, I click the 'Buy' button, and it brings me to the site, but it can't be purchased yet.  Plus is there some reason why they now put the word 'Trial' at the end of the program's title bar.  It just seems odd to me that a beta software would have these nags, as though this is the final product and I'm being prompted to buy it.  Frankly, why is it bothering me this far out?

Anyone have any comments?  Is there some way to remove it?  I used the key that came with the application setup, but no change.

Right off the top of my head, I'd say, probably not, it's there to stay until the full retail version is available, which will rewrite the .exe, once it is comfirmed that you're using a retail version

(A guess on my part, going on past experiences)

It just seems bizarre that they're treating this beta software as though it final release Trial software.

Probably because this beta is built off the Office 2013 suite. It's nagging you because it's not recognizing itself as beta software.

That doesn't make sense, Dot.  I had Office 2013 installed, but have since uninstalled it.  It does say it's a Preview, but then after it says (Trial).  It just seems a little wonky.

If you have a normal (legit) copy of Office 2013 or Office 365 you can activate using that key and you dont get the prompt, at least, thats how it is with my copy

It won't even install for me. It starts, then suddenly disappears. =/

I'm not even sure I like 2016, I hated 2013, the UI change was too much. I'm a sucker for keeping a pattern for consistency.

What I'd like to know is; whats the difference between 2013/2016, and if you're a subscriber for 2013, do you need to pay for 2016? Darn Microsoft :(

You are upgrading from 2013, not 365, yea? The 365 -> beta upgrade was painless for me.

and if you're a subscriber for 2013, do you need to pay for 2016? Darn Microsoft :(

Um, like any other release, yes.

I had Office 2013 installed, but Outlook wouldn't start, so I uninstalled Office 2013. There was no option of installing Office 2016 over or as an upgrade to 2013.  I don't have Office 365.

Only way to get rid of that prompt for now is use the KMS key for 2016 preview (out there if you look) or use an active O365 sub.

I have the latter and get no prompts.

Um, NO? If you pay for Office 365 you have access to the latest Office versions when it's released without paying extra.

If you have an Office 365 subscription you will not have to pay extra for Office 2016. You always get upgraded to the latest version

Well, yea, my point was about being able to install the 2016 update on a 365 install. They just don't call it 2016, just "preview". The apps are 2016, though. As I said, if you only have 2013, then you have to upgrade; that never changed.

As Stoffel said, Office 365 always gives you access to the latest released version of Office 365 at no extra charge. When Office 2016 officially launches, everyone with Office 365 will just get it.

... I am quite aware of that, which is why I said it. The comment I was replying to was

So yea, if you have 2013, you need to upgrade, as it has always been. If you have 365. as I said, you don't.
