ultimate99
What screen recording software do you guys know of that works well, good audio and video quality? Preferably free but a trial version will suffice. Google shows a bunch of apps and I tried a few and they're not of good quality. thanks
The Evil Overlord
when you say 'screen recording', are you referring to something like the download this video addon that was included with real player? I think it's still available on their website (Haven't used real in forever so cannot say for sure)
ultimate99
I'm not familiar with real player, but I found a relatively good one, called Icecream Apps. Does the job well.

Mega.Geniuz
That should be mostly for Android mobile devices.
joddie191
I've tried quite a few of the free screen capture programs, and for my use Screencast Capture Lite ( http://cesarsouza.github.io/screencast-capture/ ) works the best. It allows for full screen capture, one window, or just a screen region. It also allows you to capture sound and supports several encoding methods on the video directly. It is also open source, with source code that is easy to read and adjust if you so want. It does have some bug though, sometimes it stops recording audio in the middle of a recording, and sometimes it crashes when you try to start the recording preview. It also doesn't seem to want to cooperate with Teamviewer, and will in some cases crash if you connect or disconnect into a computer where the program is running. None of these bugs are critical except perhaps the audio one. From my testing, the icecream app mentioned above simply crashed when trying to start recroding and it does not support screen region capture. Used it a couple of times, it works nicely and doesn't require root or anything like that.
