Some one still use Yahoo Mail?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Actually some one still use Yahoo Mail as default mail address?

I have an old, very old, mail address that I have used for some time as my default email address... but now... what do you think about their service?

I read that yahoo is the most hacked mail service... it's true? I never have this sort of problem, but i'm using a very strong password and good question/reply recovery on all my digital service.

I realized a couple of weeks ago that my ISP switched over to Yahoo mail as their provider some years ago. I stopped using my ISP's provided email over 10 years ago so I never paid attention.

I did try logging in because I was looking for an old email message only to find out that the Yahoo mail had been deleting messages older than just a few years, so that's pretty lame from an archival standpoint. The interface was also bad and it just wasn't very intuitive.

Not sure why anyone would use Yahoo mail these days when you have much better options to choose from.

I know someone who still uses AOL emails... :/

Personally, I wouldn't use Yahoo, all of mine are with Gmail now (with the exception of my Live account).

I know, after 1 year if a people don't login into the account, yahoo delete the mail and the account.

Actually I think that yahoo mail is not very good if compared the Microsoft Outlook.com (gmail is too invasive... i think that Microsoft has a better service)

P.S: but are you sure that you can't access to old email only because your provider have done some mistake into the migration process?

I haven't used Yahoo! Mail in years myself. However I know at least two people who have been using it since ~2000 and refuse to switch to any other provider. 'Never touch a running system' and all.

I had a Yahoo address dating back to 1996 that I let go about a year ago, and have since moved everything over to Live.com and Outlook.com. Microsoft is just far superior in this department. Had an old GMail account that I also canceled. I had that one since the days everyone wanted "invites" to their email service.

Use it all the time for registering on forums and such where I don't want to use my real address.. makes a great spam trap, my real accounts get maybe one or two spam messages every couple of months, tops.. But as my primary? Not in a million years. Was getting spam even before I actually used it, read too many stories about compromised accounts, etc etc. Pass. If I had to use a third party server it would be either Outlook or GMail, both have been very reliable for my uses.

I still use one as a junk account for signing up for stuff or anything I know is going to spam me. As a real account though, no way. It seems really slow now, their spam filter is terrible, and the final straw was when they started sending you junk mail, I mean "sponsored" emails.

Stopped using my Yahoo account 5-6 years ago.  I use Outlook and Gmail.

I just tried to log in and a message stated since they haven't seen me for awhile I needed to verify my account and have a code sent to my back-up email address.  Thing is that was an old MSN account I deleted.  So no accessing the Yahoo account even to delete it.  lol

I stopped using Yahoo mail and switched to Outlook about three years ago after I had started receiving a lot of spam even though that address was used only for work related emails and, apparently, that spam came from me, I was both the sender and the receiver of the spam, so I deleted my account.

My mom still uses Yahoo Mail, because she thinks it would be too much trouble to switch. And then she complains about every little change Yahoo makes, about its poor attachment handling, about its poor support of mail apps, the page being slow, etc. etc.

Gmail is my default email address, sometimes also use Yahoo mail.

I use Yahoo for Yahoo-based services (just as I use GMail for Google services); however, I use Outlook.com (replacing Hotmail) for almost everything else (I use my ISP for personal PERSONAL mail).
