OpenGL GLX context is not [Ubuntu]

Recommended Posts

Running a Ubuntu (14.10) dual boot, right now I'm using it and when ever I open steam I get this message:

Error

OpenGL GLX context is not using direct rendering, which may cause performance problems.

My system specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H-WB ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card
Monitor: Asus PB278Q
Monitor: LG 22MP55HQ-P

Second problem, when ever I turn on my Asus (within Ubuntu) it black screens and returns a 'no signal' error. Doesn't happen for my LG, nor does this happen in Windows 7 (Ult).

Can you open a terminal, and tell us what the result of the following command is?

glxinfo | grep rendering
